Lasting Light Counselling

Support Available
Over time, I've gained experience not just with working neurodivergence, childhood trauma, relationships, and shame, but also with: depression, low self-esteem / confidence, bereavement, self-harm, suicidal ideation and intent, abuse (emotional, spiritual, sexual), life changes/ transitions, cultural and religious issues, LGBTQ+ issues, fertility issues, financial issues, procrastination, unhelpful habits, and burnout.
My training and ongoing professional development means I can work ethically and effectively with adults and teenagers, having gained qualifications to work with both groups. I've been counselling individuals for the past three and a half years, partly within schools, the charity sector, and private practice. I'm now working full-time in private practice.
I work with a variety of counselling modalities to support you as effectively as I can. I find building authentic, compassionate, and trusting relationships with clients to be particularly important. I also enjoy working creatively at times should the need arise. I adapt to what you're comfortable with and your pace of working, as well as setting goals for therapy if that helps you.
To help you get to know me a little better, I am of mixed heritage and grew up in a religious household, and therefore have some understanding of the positives and complexities that can come with this kind of upbringing. Professionally, I started off studying and working within the legal sector (housing, human rights, and family law), before changing to the education sector. I have experience as a teaching assistant, tutor, trainee teacher, and counsellor within schools.
